James E. Moore

James Moore joined the firm in 1991. He does trial work with an emphasis in governmental liability and civil rights defense.

While in law school, James was Articles Editor for the South Dakota Law Review. From 1989 to 1991, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable C. Arlen Beam, United States Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

James is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of South Dakota, South Dakota Defense Lawyers Association and Defense Research Institute. He is currently serving on the SD State Bar Law School Committee. In 2011 he has again been selected for inclusion in both The Best Lawyers in America and Chambers U.S.A.'s America's Leading Lawyers for Business.  James is named in "Great Plains Super Lawyers" (published by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine) 2007 in the area of civil rights/first amendment and in 2009 in the area of Eminent Domain.

James is past board chair of Volunteers of America, Dakotas, and is on the board of the South Dakota Symphony. He is also a member of the Civil Service Board for the City of Sioux Falls.
