Attorneys

Associates who join us find ample opportunity to work both independently and as part of one or more of our practice groups. A new associate can explore several substantive areas of law before definitively choosing which road to follow in his or her legal career. When making hiring decisions, we consider several factors, including academic standing, work experience, law school activities, community activities, and clerkships.

Associates in litigation-related practice areas receive considerable client contact and litigation experience. Responsibilities include interviewing witnesses for trial, taking depositions, drafting pleadings, arguing motions, writing trial court and appellate briefs, and trying cases. Associates in our business-related practice areas also receive considerable client contact and exposure to the business environment. Responsibilities include negotiating and drafting contracts, preparation of estate plans, forming business entities, resolving business disputes, completing securities filings, and addressing a wide variety of regulatory and business issues.

Summer Interns

At Woods Fuller, our summer intern program is an integral part of our hiring process, and is designed to expose summer associates to a variety of practice areas and to become acquainted with attorneys in the firm. In addition to research and writing assignments and document review projects, summer associates are encouraged to attend depositions, motion hearings, trials, and client meetings.
