EXPERIENCE:
Jordan Feist is a commercial litigation attorney in Sioux Falls with a focus on creditor and bankruptcy litigation. He advises and represents banks, credit unions, lenders, businesses, governmental entities, and other secured and unsecured creditors in lending and payment disputes, foreclosures, bankruptcy matters, and other insolvency-related proceedings. He also represents contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in construction-related payment disputes, including mechanic’s lien, public improvement lien, and bond claims.
Jordan’s bankruptcy experience includes representing secured and unsecured creditors in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Chapter 12, and Chapter 13 cases. He has experience representing businesses and individuals in claims litigation, cash collateral disputes, contested plan confirmation proceedings, and adversary proceedings, including fraudulent transfer, preferential transfer, and post-petition transfer cases.
Jordan has additional experience representing parties in complex litigation, including trust and estate disputes and business disputes among shareholders, members, and partners. He is licensed in and has an active litigation practice in South Dakota, Iowa, and North Dakota.
Before entering private practice, Jordan served as a law clerk to the Honorable Shon Hastings of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of North Dakota. He is a graduate of University of South Dakota (B.S., magna cum laude), and The Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law (J.D., summa cum laude). In law school, Jordan served as an Articles Editor for the Penn State Law Review and was a member of the Woolsack Honor Society. His student law review note was published in Volume 118 of the Penn State Law Review.
Jordan has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Great Plains Super Lawyers (2018-2025) and by Best Lawyers as “One to Watch” (2020-2025).
Jordan lives in Sioux Falls with his wife and two children.
