James Moore Admitted to American College of Trial Lawyers

Congratulations to James E. Moore, Woods Fuller Shareholder, for his induction as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers - one of the premier legal associations in North America.

The induction ceremony at which Moore became a Fellow took place recently before an audience of approximately 950 during the recent Annual Meeting of the College in Washington, D.C.

Founded in 1950, the College is the American College of Trial Lawyers is widely recognized as the preeminent organization of trial lawyers in North America, composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Fellowship is extended by invitation only, following a rigorous investigation process, to experienced trial lawyers who have demonstrated the highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, professionalism, civility, and collegiality. Candidates must have at least fifteen years of trial experience before consideration for Fellowship.

The American College of Trial Lawyers strives to preserve and enhance trial practice, civility, professionalism, and the administration of justice through support of an independent judiciary, the rule of law, trial by jury, and access to justice.

“The American College of Trial Lawrence is a strong advocate for an independent judiciary and the rule of law.  I’m honored to join the organization in supporting that work,” says Moore of his induction.

Moore has been practicing with Woods Fuller for 34 years. His practices focuses on handles trial work involving government liability, eminent domain, insurance disputes, business litigation, and minority-shareholder claims.

James is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the South Dakota Defense Lawyers Association, and Defense Research Institute. He also serves on the South Dakota State Bar Law School Committee. James is a past board chair of the Volunteers of America, Dakotas; First Lutheran Church; and the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra. He was also a member of the Civil Service Board for the City of Sioux Falls.

James is listed in “The Best Lawyers in American,” “Chamber’s USA” and is AV Peer Review Rated by “Martindale-Hubbell.”

The College maintains and seeks to improve the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics, and the administration of justice through education and public statements on independence of the judiciary, trial by jury, respect for the rule of law, access to justice, and fair and just representation of all parties to legal proceedings. The College is thus able to speak with a balanced voice on important issues affecting the legal profession and the administration of justice.
