Woods Fuller Remembers John E. Simko

Woods Fuller mourns the loss of our former colleague and friend, John E. Simko.

John dedicated more than three decades of his legal career to Woods Fuller, where he built a reputation as a skilled trial lawyer, trusted advisor, and steady presence within the firm. He was deeply respected by colleagues and clients alike for his professionalism, thoughtful judgment, and commitment to excellence in the practice of law.

In 2000, John was appointed as a United States Magistrate Judge for the District of South Dakota, where he continued his service to the legal community with distinction until his retirement in 2014.

We are grateful for John’s many contributions to Woods Fuller and to the broader South Dakota legal community. He will be remembered not only for his legal accomplishments, but also for the collegiality and integrity he brought to his work and relationships.

Our thoughts are with John’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
